What each part does
Tap a point to see what it's for.
Valve 2 · headboard
Fill this last, until the headboard cushion feels comfortably firm, then screw the cap closed.
Ribbed mattress with raised side bumpers
A flat surface to lie down or curl up on. The raised edges help stop toys and blankets sliding off. They're not a restraint: the seatbelt stays fastened.
Valve 1 · main bed
Pump here first until the mattress is firm, not rock-hard, then screw the cap closed.
Support block
Stands in the footwell and fills the gap in front of the seat, so the mattress lies flat.
Hand pump
Manual pump with hose, no batteries or charging. Included.
Carry bag
Drawstring bag for the deflated bed and the pump. Included.
Set up in three steps
1. Inflate the bed. Attach the hand pump to valve 1 on the front-right side and pump until the mattress is firm. Screw the cap closed.
2. Place it on the seat. Set the support block in the footwell in front of your child's seat so the mattress lies flat across the seat and over the footwell.
3. Fill the headboard and buckle up. Pump valve 2 on the headboard until it feels comfortably firm, lay your child down and fasten their seatbelt.
Rules vary by airline, so check with yours before you fly. Set it up at cruise only, once the crew says it's OK, and deflate and stow it for taxi, take-off and landing. Never in an exit row or where it blocks anyone's way out. Keep your child buckled in and supervised. Inflate firm, not rock-hard, and do a practice run at home before your trip.
Make the overnight flight feel like bedtime
You know the scene. The cabin lights dim, and your little one is folded sideways in the seat, head on the armrest, feet searching for somewhere to go. Nobody really sleeps.
Travel Nest gives them a small, flat bed of their own. They can lie down and settle in like it's bedtime, and the whole row gets a calmer flight. Keep them buckled in and within reach, as always.
Nap time, snack time, movie time
Between naps, Travel Nest becomes their own corner of the plane. They can sit cross-legged with a tablet, spread out crayons and snacks, and the raised bumpers help keep it all from rolling onto the floor.
Then, when they get sleepy, they can lie back down, seatbelt still fastened.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my airline let us use it?
Will my airline let us use it?
Rules vary by airline, and sometimes by aircraft and route. Some airlines allow inflatable seat extenders in general, some only allow certain named products (Travel Nest may not be one of them), and some, including some major airlines, don't allow them at all. Please ask your airline whether they allow inflatable seat extenders before you fly. Search their website for "comfort device", "seat extender", "inflatable footrest" or "sleep device", or ask when you book. On board, the cabin crew's instructions come first.
Where it's allowed, set it up only once the plane is cruising and the seatbelt sign is off, and put it away for taxi, take-off and landing. Never use it in an exit row or where it blocks anyone's way out, and keep your child buckled in and supervised the whole time.
Tip: save a screenshot of the policy so it's handy if anyone asks.
What age and size is it for?
What age and size is it for?
Travel Nest is designed for children aged 2–7 and isn't meant for babies or children under 2. Kids grow at very different rates, so if your child is especially tall for their age, message us before ordering.
Your child needs a seat of their own, and should stay buckled in and supervised by an adult while using it.
How do I clean it?
How do I clean it?
Wipe it down with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let it air-dry completely before rolling it into the bag. Avoid harsh cleaners and sharp objects, and don't put it in the washing machine.
How does the seatbelt work with the bed?
How does the seatbelt work with the bed?
Your child's seatbelt stays fastened the whole time they're on the bed, just like the rest of the flight. Lay them with their head toward the back of their own seat, never under the tray table, so the lap belt sits low and snug across their hips. If the belt can't sit low across their hips while they lie down, have them sit up with the belt on. Travel Nest is not a child restraint and doesn't replace the seatbelt. Follow the crew's instructions whenever the seatbelt sign is on.
Will it bother the people next to us?
Will it bother the people next to us?
Set it up so it stays within your child's own seat and footwell: it shouldn't spread onto the next seat, press hard against the seat in front or block anyone's way out of the row. Keep the aisle clear, and if the passenger in front reclines, let a little air out so the bed rests snugly rather than wedged.
Is it noisy to pump up?
Is it noisy to pump up?
It uses a manual hand pump, so there's no motor, but you'll hear the pump while you inflate. Setting it up once the plane is cruising, when the cabin has its steady background hum, helps, and a practice run at home makes it quicker on board.
